Dr. Kirk W. Cameron
Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder

Dr. Kirk W. Cameron co-founded MiserWare and serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. He is responsible for overseeing business strategy and the technology roadmap for MiserWare. Kirk is also Director of the Scalable Performance Laboratory at Virginia Tech and an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science. He is an internationally recognized and award-winning expert in Green Computing Technologies and has raised and managed over $2.5 Million in related research expenditures since 2003.

Kirk is a faculty fellow of the VT College of Engineering and the Uptime Institute and is a recipient of numerous awards including the NSF Career Award, DOE Early Career Award, IBM Faculty Award, and USC COE Young Investigator Award. Kirk is a consultant for the Energy Star program and a founding member of the SPEC Power committee. Kirk received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Louisiana State University and his B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Florida.

Joseph Turner
Director, VP Engineering and Co-Founder

Joseph Turner co-founded MiserWare and serves as Director and Vice-President for Engineering. He is responsible for overseeing design and development for all MiserWare software products. Joseph has been developing power management software since 2004 and is co-inventor of four patent disclosures related to MiserWare’s intelligent power management software. Joseph has also published several research papers related to his early work in power management.

Joseph is a Cunningham Fellow at Virginia Tech. He holds a B.S. Summa Cum Laude from the Computer Science Honors Program at the University of South Carolina. As an undergraduate, Joseph was a Carolina Scholar and a Palmetto Fellow, two of the most prestigious designations USC offers. Joseph is also an invited member of Phi Beta Kappa, Mu Alpha Theta, and Pi Mu Epsilon.

Dr. Melissa A. Cameron
Chief Financial Officer

Dr. Melissa A. Cameron serves as Chief Financial Officer. Melissa is responsible for MiserWare’s financial and administrative operations. Melissa has managed MiserWare finances since the creation of the company and through institutional financing. Previously, Melissa was a Team Leader at Los Alamos National Laboratory where she designed and taught environmental safety courses related to harmful contaminants such as Beryllium. Melissa also served on the Environmental, Health and Safety task force chartered with directing the labs policies to ensure OSHA and EPA compliance. For her work at LANL, she received the Environmental-Safety-Health achievement award among other honors.

Melissa received her Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Louisiana State University in 1998 and her B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Florida in 1993. Melissa was a Board of Regents Fellow at LSU and a Florida Academic scholar while at UF.

Dr. Matthew Grove
Lead Developer, MiserWare Linux Products

Dr. Mat Grove is Lead Developer for MiserWare Linux Products. Mat works closely with the Linux open-source community to ensure MiserWare products solve problems important to end users and provide interfaces appropriate for Linux deployments. Mat works closely with the VP Engineering to guide the development of MiserWare’s flagship products including g Granola for single systems and ServerMiser Enterprise Suite for data center deployments. Mat is MiserWare employee Number One and began working with the company in July 2008. Prior to joining MiserWare, Mat spent 10 years developing software for Linux systems. Mat is the author of numerous publications related to middleware development in distributed systems.

Mat holds a Ph.D. from the Distributed Systems Group at the University of Portsmouth and continues to participate in and contribute to research at the University of Reading where he holds a visiting research fellow position.
